About Us
Worldwide Missionary Service was
started in the early part of 1997, for the purpose of helping Church sent
Missionaries throughout the world.
Calvary Missionary Baptist Church
of Overpeck, Ohio sponsored the ministry until the first of August, 1999.
At that time Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Haynesville, Louisiana began
sponsoring the ministry. In June, 2000 because Bro. Ellison accepted the
pastorate of Calvary Baptist Church of Sherman, Texas the sponsorship was
moved to Calvary.
WMS is and has always been affiliated
with the Churches of the American Baptist Association.
WMS has always been a service to assist
missions and small churches without any expense to the missionary, pastor,
church or mission.
WMS has assisted many works both in the USA and also throughout the world. (Four Different Countries)
Charlie R. Ellison has served as the Director of WMS from its formation.
The Lord has supplied Brother Ellison
with the experience needed for this much needed work. During his thirty
year plus ministry he served as missionary for twelve years helping organize
churches in Somerville Tennessee, Baton Rouge Louisiana, and Hooks Texas. He has
served as moderator of several local associations, and he also helped organize
the Tennessee State Missionary Baptist Association and served as that
association's first Moderator. He also served on the Missionary Committee of the
Arkansas State Missionary Baptist Association. He is also currently pastor of
the sponsoring church, and also President of
Reach America
It is the vision of the WMS to continue to assist the Lord's Churches and Missions at no expense, no matter from where the Macedonian Call of "Help" comes.
